NILDS, Policy Innovation Centre Explore Partnership On Gender Inclusion, Research

National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) received a delegation from the Policy Innovation Centre (PIC), led by its Executive Director, Dr. Osasuyi Dirisu, to explore areas of collaboration in gender inclusion, research and capacity building.

The engagement focused on PIC’s Gender and Inclusion Summit, which is being expanded from a learning workshop into a structured academic conference to provide a stronger platform for researchers, academics and practitioners to engage on gender and inclusion issues.

Director general NILDS welcomed the initiative, noting that the proposed collaboration aligns with the Institute’s mandate in evidence-based research, capacity building and advocacy. He reaffirmed NILDS’ readiness to support the conference and deepen existing institutional partnerships with PIC.

He stressed the importance of advancing women’s participation in governance, noting that meaningful democratic and economic development requires the inclusion of women and other underrepresented groups in decision making.

The engagement underscored the shared commitment of both institutions to strengthening evidence based policy engagement and promoting greater inclusion in Nigeria’s democratic and development processes.
