The Director General of National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Prof. Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman, on Wednesday, 29 July 2026, urged NYSC Corps Members serving at the Institute to maximise their service year by acquiring relevant skills, professional experience and knowledge.
Director General described the meeting as a rare opportunity for Corps Members to interact directly with the leadership of the Institute, ask questions and discuss issues affecting their service.
He encouraged them to take advantage of NILDS’ research, training and mentorship opportunities, particularly in legislative processes, democracy, governance and public policy.
Prof. Sulaiman stressed that their time at the Institute should go beyond fulfilling the NYSC requirement, urging them to leave with valuable skills and experience that could support their careers after service.
Earlier, the Director of Administration and Human Resources, Mr Moshood Olalere, commended the management for its continued support and welfare initiatives for Corps Members.
He urged them to reciprocate by being punctual, diligent, properly dressed and committed to their assigned responsibilities while making effective use of the learning opportunities available across the Institute.
