The Director General of National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Prof. Abubakar O. Sulaiman, paid a courtesy visit to the Ambassador of the European Union to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Ambassador Gautier Mignot, as both sides explored opportunities for stronger legislative and democratic cooperation.
The visit provided an opportunity to identify areas of mutual interest and deepen collaboration in legislative development, democratic governance, and institutional capacity building.
Prof. Sulaiman highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships in advancing NILDS’ mandate of strengthening legislative institutions and promoting democratic values in Nigeria and the wider West African region.
The engagement further underscored the Institute’s commitment to building stronger relationships with international partners through knowledge exchange, research, capacity development, and initiatives aimed at promoting effective democratic institutions.
